First a little about us. Homegrown Catering Co. has always been a dream of Melissa's our owner and founder. Melissa comes from a family who spends most of their summer on their families farm in Effingham, Ks. Our family is centered around our Matriarch Patricia who taught my mother and I everything we know. From a young age, Melissa can remember being in the kitchen beside her mom, sharing family recipes, experimenting with new ones and cherishing the moments in time where food has brought us closer not only as family but also as friends. If I can pass along those precious moments to just one person, I know I am on the right path.
Thus, roots a deep admiration for our farmers and the communities they serve has lead me on the path of providing healthy, wholesome, and locally sourced products accessible to my community and loved ones. The American food industry has taken a trajectory towards profit over product and has filled our homes with artificial, bioengineered, downright poison in colorful and attractive packaging. Furthermore, over regulating the heart and soul of our country, the hardworking American farmers. Therefore, leading us to countless health issues that are effecting everyone at a seriously alarming rate. Something is definitely wrong and I strive to give us the options to choose whole foods, that are made the way god intended them to be. In my humble opinion, scientists, money mongers, big pharma, and labs should not be present in our children's food.
I pride myself on sourcing real, simple, and whole products in order to create the same quick meal approach we all need sometimes in this fast paced life, but with ingredients you can pronounce and you feel good about feeding your family, by knowing exactly what is in your food.
I know that jobs, after school activities, managing a household and countless other obligations sometimes make those McDonalds golden arches shine a little brighter, especially after a long tiresome day, but instead of pulling into the drive through and consuming microplastics, fillers, hormone ridden beef and chicken and lord know what else, choose Homegrown Catering Co. instead. We will craft a delicious meal for you and your family that is hot and ready to eat as soon as you pick it up or have it delivered. We can provide you with staples that are easy to pop into the freezer and reheat when needed, such as breakfast sandwiches and pot pies. Or protein balls and fresh pressed juices for all you on the go parents. And a rotating menu, artfully crafted every month ensures your not stuck in the same routine meals that sometimes get a little monotonous.
Our retail shop also is a great place to host a girls night, let's get crafty! Or if cards are your thing, we would make a great spot for bunko, or poker nights. HOA meetings, Book Clubs, a personalized tea party for your nieces bridal shower or baby shower...we're here for all of it and can't wait to host you. Plus, with our kitchen right next door you can bet the refreshments will be top notch!
As a small business in your community, all the profits are fed right back into you or your neighbors businesses, providing a job for a local high school student, or a talented chef looking for the right fit.Let's keep it local, because at the end of the day, we're all family here and I would be thrilled to be invited to your dinner table.
